As a professional community, change is likely to take time. Keeping an open mind to what colleagues have to offer, sharing and learning from each other to continuously improve our individual and collective teaching practices is a precursor for change.
Also important is to remember that not everyone will be ready for change when it is first presented. Often times it takes a while to adjust and accept new ideas. A new idea, that has proven it's value, is more likely to be accepted then a proposed idea that has not been proven yet.
