Math Blog 2

Week 3
Blog 2

"Don't ever give students an answer they can find out on their own". It doesn't only make sense, it makes for better teaching, higher student engagement and greater student learning. On the teacher part it involves good questioning practices. Via questioning the teacher can clarify, guiding the student towards, using their own knowledge a deeper understanding.

What I liked best about this, is the fact that it applies not only to math but to any subject area. If the students are coming up with the solutions and answers I believe they are more likely to remember them because it becomes more meaningful to them.
